Golf Resort? Me?

My friends and family may be a little surprised to hear that we (I) stayed at a golf resort in Thailand (well, anywhere really). I don’t actually dislike golf but I really don’t feel that I appreciate it enough to pay the costs generally associated with golf (and I’m generally thrifty with the accommodations I book – at least that’s the polite word we use for it).

However, Paul loves golf and I love Paul so, we investigated the possibility. Lucky for him, a friend of mine had recently been golfing in Hua Hin, Thailand and was posting and raving about it so I messaged her and got some recommendations (thanks Monica)!

Before I could change my mind, Paul had come to an agreement with Springfield Valley Golf and Spa jthat I could swallow, and off we went!

If I could read his mind: “see what we can get when you spend a little more on accommodation!” But maybe he’s just introducing me to the pool.
Could he BE any happier??!!!!!

It really was pretty sweet!!!

We essentially had a 1 acre pool all to ourselves.

And the golfing was beautiful and lots of fun!!!

Anyone who golfs here must get a caddy. The two women who came with us were lovely. They would suggest which club, pull it out of the bag, hand it to us, watch where the ball goes, and wipe the club before putting it back in the bag and hopping on the back of the cart. Mun – my caddy, would also five me some direction and tips to improve.

No comments on my form, thank you.

Thanks to my husband for taking me out of my comfort zone and providing us with a little luxury in Thailand.

Afterword: We were quickly yanked back to reality the following day when we took a night bus (and 2 transfer vans) to Ko Lanta, our final stop in Thailand.
