What’s Good About Being Home

It’s been just over a month now being home. Routines are reestablished, reentry to both our jobs has started, we’ve both been paid, now it’s time for a little reflection. Aside from the obvious 2F’s (family and friends), here’s some of what has been good about being home (at least for a bit), and what we are looking forward to:

– being able to choose from a larger selection of clothes, and ready access to a washing machine and dryer. Note to self, gotta figure out a clothesline for the backyard.

– being in the North American time zone for following sports. Now, the downside is Paul will need to start getting up early on the weekends for F1 again.

– being able to make a proper dinner and desert. Maybe even finally have a try at baking bread? We’ve actually had a successful couple of weeks making a meal plan for the week on Sundays and alternating who’s on to cook!

– having a wee bit more residential elbow room.

– being able to spend time on the Sunshine Coast

– being able to repay the kindnesses that so many locals bestowed on us while we wandered around to tourists and travellers (and even locals), who may need a hand.

– not having to think about dollar conversion rates. Jordan, the EU and the UK were a little rough.

– the familiar sights and sites of home.

– refreshing our memories of the trip. Paul’s colleagues papered his office with photos from IG and the blog. Rather than chuck them, they’ve now become a collage that brings a little joy on the office days.

  1. While we LOVED following your adventure, we think overall that we prefer when you are home to make us pie and show us your pics in person.
