So yesterday we get to Bali and check into Parigata Resort and Spa in Sanur and learn we have a lovely ground level room close to the pool.

Might have been the jet lag, or maybe it’s age, or maybe it’s just getting the inevitable mishaps out of the way fast, but by the end of the night I’m sure there was lots of talk at the front desk about the dumbass in room 105.

Exhibit A……I go to set the code for the room safe. Something I have done a bunch. And I still managed to lock the safe, with no code available for me to open it. Not a big deal, except that all our valuable stuff was in the safe. So that was walk of shame #1 to the front desk, who were lovely in helping us out.

Exhibit B….back from a nice beach dinner, we hit the pool for a swim. Problem was we latched the room door with the security bolt, and also managed to lock the patio door (which our room key wouldn’t open). After a futile few minutes trying to Jimmy the room door latch with multiple objects, we again visited the front desk. Same dude. Who now had a sequel to our safe story.
