Why Do My Eyes Keep Leaking?

I don’t know why it happens or what exactly prompts it… feeling grateful? Overwhelmed? Amazed? In awe? Older? In pain? Far away?

Every now and again as I’m walking along a street, sitting in a park, or even hanging out in our apartment, I start tearing up. Just a little and then it passes.

Here are some examples of when this strange phenomenon may have occurred recently. Maybe you can figure you what’s going on!

Looking out the window of our apartment
Staring at a beautiful piece of art (or just a small corner of a large and beautiful piece)
Walking down a street in our neighbourhood
Spring Flowers over the Seine.
Being at an iconic location
A garden waking up from winter.
Having a good laugh 😂
Woops, how did this one sneak in here???
Watching a sweet little duck family.
Watching someone I love being in awe over their surroundings
Airport greetings! There is another one of these coming up soon and I hate to admit it (and someone won’t want to hear this), but there may be a lot more than leaking at the next airport greeting. But that is a story for a future post.

Awe and wonder… appreciation and thankfulness… that is my guess as to the probable causes of my recent eye leaking. Except when I see an adorable pic of my sweet pups, then it is a completely different matter!

  1. Hi I guess leaking of the eye is telling you you are home sick for your loved ones. monicashelbourn@icloud.com

    1. That is a part of it. I think it’s mostly being so incredibly grateful and in awe of where aI find myself. We often look at each other and exclaim, “we’re in PARIS!!”
