Next Steps: galmc Travel Coaching!

We are very happy to share with all of you a little endeavour that we have decided to embark on.

Over the last few weeks of the trip we came to realize two things very clearly. One is that we, aside from loving to travel, have learned a lot about how to navigate all the intricacies of travelling on a modest budget.

The other is that we have a desire to assist others who may need a little (or a lot) of help to make their own trips a successful reality. From just figuring out where to go, to transportation, to accommodation, and all the other little things that go into a trip, we believe that the experiences we have gained through our travels can help others also have a successful travel experience.

As travel coaches we want to offer our experience to help travellers have the best trip possible. We are certainly not travel agents but, we can be there to help people figure out where to go, how to get there (and get around wherever you do go), where to stay, and all the other myriad things we have dealt with on our two trips around the world.

Specifically things like:

– figuring out a travel plan. Where to go when?

– airline travel booking

– AirBnB and other accommodation sites

– using your smartphone in foreign countries

– car rentals

– train and bus travel

– things you’ll be glad you packed

– how to figure out entry visas

– what to wear (and what not to wear)

– packing tips

So how would it work? We want to keep this simple. Anyone who wants to can connect to us (for now) via email at: galmctravelcoaches@gmail.com. From there we will follow up and find a time to chat in person or via WhatsApp, and see how we can assist.

So what does this cost? Well, we’ve taken a page from our experience at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for this one. Many of the shows we saw asked that patrons pay whatever they felt was appropriate for what they experienced. For now we are adopting the same approach. We will provide our assistance, no matter how big or small the challenge. After that all we ask is that those we assist pay what they feel is appropriate for the help they received.

So what now? Hopefully, if you come across anyone who is challenged in their travel planning you can say, “hey, I know someone who might be able to help you…”

Thank you for supporting us and helping to spread the word about our new venture!

Heather and Paul

  1. What a lovely idea!
Perhaps you could write a travel book of tips with advice and guidance ? Because as you say, you’ve learnt a lot…. but I think you’ve also tried to go off the beaten track sometimes to see the more authentic place …. and I’m sure people would be interested in that!
And glad you’ve settled back home ok xxx
